About Just Response

The current and most collaborative version of Just Response began when we realized that we could avoid duplication of efforts and combine the First Step Multidisciplinary Team and the JUST Response Team to determine how we could better serve victims of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual violence.

Just Response is built on the knowledge and experience of the child abuse movement and the domestic violence movement and is jointly led by Missoula City County Relationship Violence Services and First Step Resource Center. Just Response is housed under Missoula County’s Community Justice Department.

During that time, there was widespread training on how people respond in traumatic situations and how to best interview them while expressing compassion for their experience.

Today we try to keep a pulse on how to best support crime victims, identify where we can use more training and improvements, and continue to collaborate for better outcomes.

Our values that center our work are:

●     Person-centered approach

●     Timely collaboration

●     Continuous improvement

●     Respectful curiosity
